Ayala was the selected fit-out contractor for both the Prestige Mall and the Grand Avenue at the Avenues in Kuwait, one of the largest shopping malls in the Middle East region.

Designed by Gensler, the Prestige Mall houses The Avenues’ most prestigious retail outlets with Harvey Nichols as its flagship store, and over 50 of the world’s most luxurious brands including Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Armani, Prada, Chanel, Christian Dior and Versace. The mall features a technically complex curvaceous polished steel dome housing a spectacular light show and uses a combination of Portoro marble, titanium coated steel, highly specialized glass and mirror cladding to create one of the most luxurious shopping environments in the world.

The Grand Avenue on the other hand is a 500 metre long street lined with palm trees and covered by an ETFE roof creating the illusion of an outdoor space within a controlled environment. The street scene comprises almost 40 individually designed facades creating the feeling of London’s Oxford Street or the Champs Elysees in Paris albeit with some Middle East touches. Ayala was tasked with creating authentic facades, importing materials from around the world to achieve as much realism and variety as possible. The Grand Avenue houses as many as 100 stores, street cafes and restaurants and is one of the most successful malls in the region.
