Danesfield House
A remarkable Grade II listed building with manicured grounds set on a hill in Buckinghamshire, England. This hotel has magnificent views of the River Thames and surrounding countryside. Following a devastating fire that left only the masonry walls and chimneys standing, Ayala was responsible for the complete reconstruction of the remains of this landmark building into a five-star hotel. The extensive building work included new floors and roofs in major parts of the building and significantly the hammer beam roof of the grand hall. Relying on burnt remains and old photographic records the building was painstakingly restored under the ever watchful eye of English Heritage. Original carving details, plaster mouldings, and panelling were faithfully reproduced and incorporated into the new works, along with the requirements of a modern hotel.
