Bayan Palace Grand Banqueting Hall

In 1996, Kuwait again hosted the annual meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council. A new meeting and banqueting complex was designed by local architects PACE. Ayala and its local partner were awarded the contract for the interior fit-out of this 10,000 square metre facility. The building features a sumptuous marble entrance hall and pre-function, with separate receptions for HH Amir and HH Crown Prince and Prime Minister together with a grand ballroom, where the GCC meeting was held.

The ballroom was finished with a magnificent inlaid circular meeting table to seat the council’s six heads of state and the chairman, made in England of exotic hardwoods and boasting gilded detailing, the table includes the latest conference electronics.

The hall was used again when Kuwait hosted another GCC meeting six years later, and Ayala was invited back to re-install and to upgrade the facility for the conference.
